Kitchen Remodeling in South Riding Virginia

Kitchen remodeling jobs are alive and well in South Riding, VA!  Recently, we have had several people calling Home Design Elements from South Riding for help renovating their kitchens.  Something in the water?

The houses in South Riding are just beautiful and we love helping make the kitchens something special.  We just completed a kitchen remodel job just off Murray Drive, along the south east edge of South Riding, the corner nearest Cox Farm.

Remodeled Kitchens in South Riding

The Scott family is not unlike many in South Riding.  Mr. Scott works for a government contractor – a technology contractor.  Mrs. Scott is a Physical therapist who works part time hours at Fair Oaks hospital.  They have 3 children, ages 13, 11 and 9.  Needless to say, life is hectic!

Their home is on a corner lot.  The kitchen is joined to the family room.  They moved into the house in 2002, when the house was brand new.  The kitchen floors are hardwood and stretch from the entry way, along side the dining/living area and into the kitchen.  The floors are a honey oak stain.  The cabinets were white as were the appliances.

South Riding Kitchens – Wear and Tear

No kitchen can outlast a bunch of active kids!  The first thing to happen (as Mrs. Scott tells it) is the door of the dishwasher wouldn’t close.  Somebody or some thing (who knows!) dented the front of the dishwasher and made a dent big enough to prevent the latch from fully closing.

The second problem was found in the cabinet drawers.  Three of the five cabinet drawer faces were literally hanging by a single screw.

When the sink developed a leak, the Scotts knew it was time for an update.

They family came down to the design center and were on a mission.  They were in full “get it done” mode.  In one visit, they selected countertops, cabinets, flooring and a new window treatment for the over-the-sink window.  The last thing they did was pencil in the work schedule.

We completed the Scott job quickly and easily.  Mrs. Scott came in after the job was done to update the window treatments in her family room too!
